It serves as a reliable alternative to conventional thermistors or thermocouples. This sensor can also measure the die temperature of ICs, including microprocessors (µPs) or microcontrollers (µCs) with built-in, diode-connected transistors.

  • High Accuracy: ±1°C for temperatures between 0°C and 125°C.
  • 12-bit Resolution: Converts temperature readings into a 12-bit + sign word with a 0.0625°C resolution.
  • SPI-Compatible Interface: A 3-wire serial interface for seamless integration with microcontrollers.
  • Temperature Range Handling: Can interpret data up to 145°C from the remote sensor, though its own temperature should not exceed 125°C.

The MAX6627MKA#G16 comes in two conversion rate versions:

  • MAX6627: Converts data every 0.5 seconds.
  • MAX6628: Converts data every 8 seconds for lower power consumption (30µA, typical).

Both models operate within a 3.0V to 5.5V supply range, function between -55°C and 125°C, and come in a compact 8-pin SOT package, making them suitable for various temperature sensing applications.
